Wastewater Treatment Station
The birds slaughtering and meat processing generates tons of waste every day, and they can contaminate the environment if not correctly treated. To prevent the resources pollution, the company runs the Wastewater Treatment Station, designed with cutting-edge technologies available in the market and meeting the Environmental Regulations no. 357/2005 and no. 430/2005 of the Environment National Board (Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente - Conama), which establishes standards and conditions to correctly discard the wastewater. It has a capacity to treat 120 m³ of wastewater per hour. A part of this treated wastewater is released in Ribeirão Fortunato, and the other is reused through the Water Reuse Treatment Station.
-
Subproducts industry
The feathers, heads, viscera and blood generated from the slaughtering of birds and embedded production debris are all sent to this industry. After the processing, they become flour and oil and serve as raw material for the Feeds Factory of the Poultry Cutting Integration System. The wast generate (mud) is sent to the Organic Fertilizer Industry Class II so it ill become a high efficiency fertilizer to be used in several types of crops.
-
Organic Waste Treatment Industry Class II
Also known as Composting Plant, it treats all organic waste produced by Grupo Pioneiro: waste from the Feeds Factory, Subproducts Industry, Maná Industries and Frangos Pioneiro, as well as from the cafeterias and the mud in the Wastewater Treatment Plant. It has a 20 ton-capacity per day. After this treatment, the waste becomes high efficiency organic fertilizers. The treatment is approved by Paraná Environmental Institute (Instituto Ambiental do Paraná - IAP).
-
Chicken litter
The substrate covering the Pioneiro aviaries, popularly known as chicken litter, becomes organic fertilizer and is sold mainly to the farmers in the area. Besides being a sustainable procedure, it also generates more revenue to the Pioneiro Integrated producers.
-
Recyclable Waste
Solid waste Lamps and health care waste are destined to companies specialized in the final destination of the product life cycle. Liquid waste The cooking oil is recycled by a licensed company and it becomes a raw material for other products. One of them is the detergent: for every 10 liters of recycled oil, 1 liter of detergent is converted to the Nutritional Food Unit Pioneiro. The lubricant oil from the equipments and the acid sludge generated by the Subproducts Industry are transformed in biodiesel, and this processing is also made by a licensed company.
-
Water Treatment Station
The Water Treatment Station has a 100 m³ capacity per hour, and the water used in the production process of Frangos Pioneiro and Maná Alimentos is treated to ensure the quality and safety of our products.
-
Carbon Sequestration
We have a eucalyptus plantation so, when it is in the growth phase, the trees can capture carbon and compensate our atmospheric emission. After their growth, the wood is used in the boiler in a sustainable way.
-
Environmental Education Program in Schools
Our environmental managers, along with partnerships made with schools, promote lectures for the students, sharing the good practices of nature preservation and sustainability.

Biological Filter
This filter captures gases coming from the digesters of Byproducts Industry, neutralizing odor and minimizing the emission of gases into the atmosphere.
